Auburn may have the best basketball team in America this year. The Tigers went into Tuscaloosa and beat #24 Alabama last night 81-77. That is 12 straight wins for Auburn, matching Davidson for the NATIONS LONGEST ACTIVE WIN STREAK. It was only the 11th win in Tuscaloosa all-time for Auburn Basketball, but this shows the strength of this team. Bama has beaten the likes of Gonzaga and Houston this year, and Auburn lost difference maker Walker Kessler who battled foul trouble all night before fouling out with only 13 minutes of action. Without Kessler, Auburn still lead by 14 just 8 minutes left. The depth on this team is unreal. Dylan Cardwell was forced to play more and responded with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 huge blocks, including one that may have saved the games in the final seconds. Teams that win it all, win with defense and variety. Auburn has that defense and the variety to win different ways. One side note, the most impressive thing of the night might have been the Auburn Fans in Tuscaloosa. The sold out Coleman Coliseum had a ton of orange and blue in the stands. It reminded me of a Kentucky Road Crowd, and that is impressive.
