The Final Eight is set in The NFL Playoffs and we have the best 8 teams in my opinion. There were several blowouts in the Super Wildcard Weekend, but I wouldn’t change a thing. That is why I’m not scared about expanding the CFB Playoffs either. Will we have some blowouts if we have 8 or 12 teams? Yes. Remember, we’ve had them annually in the Semi-Finals with 4 Teams. Here is what expansion does, it prevents leaving out a team good enough to win it all. Imagine if we still only had 2 teams in The BCS. Maybe 2021 Georgia isn’t in the big game. 2017 Alabama doesn’t happen. Neither does 2011 Alabama. Could Ohio State or Utah have made a run this year? It would have been fun to see. Here’s hoping The ACC finds comfort in 8 or 12 teams and that we still push forward with expansion.
