That didn’t take long (picture above), the entrance into Allen Fieldhouse has the 2022 National Championship secured in place. Kansas has 4 National Championships now, Bill Self has two of them, but I’m wondering how we will remember this Final Four. Will it always be “The Final Four where North Carolina beat Duke to end Coach K’s career?” or will it be, the Kansas National Championship. I go back to the 1980 Olympics and remember that after Team USA beat the Russians in hockey, they still had to beat Finland in the Gold Medal Game. Would we remember the shocker any different if Team USA finished with only the Silver Medal? I think so. You can’t take away that win over Duke, but some of the edge was taken off with the blown 16 point lead last night in New Orleans. – Jim Dunaway
