Texas is 4 points away from being undefeated…instead, they are a two-loss team that could become a test case of what The College Football Playoff Committee is supposed to be, humans, seeing past numbers in a computer like The BCS. Quinn Ewers (pictured above) didn’t finish the one-point loss to Alabama or the three-point overtime loss at Texas Tech. If (a big IF) Texas runs the table with a healthy Ewers…what do you do with Texas? Obviously, it depends on what Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, and USC do the rest of the way. We’ve never had a 2-Loss Team in The CFB Playoffs, Auburn would have been that team in 2017 if they had beaten Georgia for the second time in The SEC Championship Game. The door is still cracked for Texas in the playoffs with some help. The Horns become an interesting test case to watch at the midway point of the season. – Jim Dunaway
