Halloween colors for Tennessee this weekend as they battle Kentucky in the old rivalry game that used to be known as The Battle for The Beer Barrel. This is one of the oldest rivalries in major college football and from 1925 to 1999 they played for a Beer Barrel that was painted orange, white, and blue. Prior to the 1999 game, two UK Student athletes were killed in an alcohol-related death and Kentucky AD CM Newton decided playing for an alcohol-themed trophy was inappropriate. The Barrel showed back up on a Tennessee Assistants desk on social media in 2018 after an upset win over Kentucky. Fans want it back, we’ll see if they get their wish. This should be a fun game, considering Big Orange may be thinking ahead to the battle with #1 Georgia next week. – Jim Dunaway
