It is good to be King, just ask Kirby Smart. Last week, it looked like he was losing a 5-Star OL prospect off his National Championship Team to Florida State. Reports had Amarius Mims visiting Mike Norvell and The Noles and some reports had him committing to play in Tallahassee. Then 68,000 Georgia fans gathered for a spring game, there were National Championship Rings, and Mims put the portal in reverse and has returned to Athens. Did the fanfare help? Did he see a new opportunity to start? Was their more NIL money made available? Did he just want to feel loved by his old coaching staff? None or All of that can be true. What is obvious though, this is not the future of CFB, this is the PRESENT. This is what managing a roster looks like for CFB Coaches and it is not easy. Georgia’s staff had to re-recruit a kid who was with him all last season and Florida State lost what was reported to be the MOST TALENTED player Norvell had brought to Tallahassee since he arrived.
