There are a few things that every SEC Fan agree on; 1. Their Rivals bend rules in recruiting 2. Gary Danielson doesn’t like their team 3. SEC Refs are out to get them. Those are fans and expected. Auburn QB Bo Nix saying something like that makes more waves. When he was on The Next Round Monday, Ryan Brown asked him if he watched Bryce Young and Alabama Saturday. When answering the question he mentioned “Just a few of those, obviously, controversial calls in that game raises some questions, for sure, I guess unless you’re an Alabama fan.” I instantly knew that the comments would be big news, especially during Iron Bowl Week. I wanted to give Bo a chance to backtrack or clarify so I opened the door by asking if he really meant to say that in his opinion, SEC Officials give Alabama some calls. He didn’t backtrack. “I mean, legitimately, I think you can watch the game and anybody unbiased will think that something is different. It is what it is. It’s kind of how it’s always been. That’s part of the game, and they have good players. You can’t take that away from them. There’s just good players throughout the SEC, and I think that could make officiating hard just with the speed of the game.” So that kicks off Iron Bowl Week. And could be a brilliant move by Bo. Everyone watching Saturday will remember Bo’s comments on every close call…maybe he just tipped the scales toward his Tigers.
