The SEC’s Passing Leaders Through Week 6
No. 6 Beau Pribula: 110/145, 1203 yds, 9 TD, 240.6 YPG.
Missouri’s senior quarterback, Beau Pribula, has been doing great things for the Tigers this year. Pribula is a transfer from Penn State, where he played behind Drew Allar, and was so good that he would sometimes go in for Drew Allar in certain packages. I think now that Beau is in his own starting role he flourishing, and helping bring success to Mizzou. I’m excited to see how he carries this team through the remainder of the season.
No. 5 Marcell Reed: 86/144, 1256 yds, 11 TD, 251.1 YPG.
Marcell Reed has been very exciting to watch for the Aggies this year. The combination of his athleticism and elite receivers create a dangerous offense under Mike Elko. Marcell Reed makes you respect his ability to get out of the pocket and run which opens up the passing game, resulting in success in the air. I’m interested to see if Reed will be the guy to finally get it done for the Aggies this year.
No. 4 Taylen Green: 98/158, 1398 yds, 12 TD, 279.6 YPG
Taylen Green is doing big things for the Razorbacks this season. Not only is this guy a top 5 passer, but he is also top 5 in rushing. I think Taylen Green is an outstanding QB and a guy who is a lot better than we give him credit for. Hopefully Green and the Razorbacks find some success towards the end of this season.
No. 3 Joey Aguilar: 102/157, 1459 yds, 13 TD, 291.8 YPG
There’s a guy down in the Smoky Mountains right now who has been nothing short of amazing this year. Tennessee QB, Joey Aguilar is now in his 6th year of college football, and his experience and expertise are certainly showing on the field. Joey is a well put together quarterback, who has a lot of poise. I think Tennessee will surprise some people nearing the end of this season.
No. 2 Ty Simpson: 111/158, 1478 yds, 13 TD, 295.6 YPG
After a rough start the the season, Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is starting to look more and more like a pro-ready player. He now has 2 very good wins under his belt, and will most likely continue his dominance through the remainder of the season. I think his talent along with his receiving room is a dangerous combo for opposing teams.
Disclaimer: John Mateer is currently leading in passing right now, but will miss a few weeks due to a broken thumb that happened during the Auburn game.
