The SEC’s Receiving Leaders Through Week 8

The SEC’s Receiving Leaders Through Week 8

No. 5 Braylon Staley: 523 YDS  3 TD  74.7 YPG

Braylon Staley showed himself on the list of the SEC’s leading receivers last week and went on to have another pretty solid week this week against Alabama. It’s impressive to see him included among the SEC’s leading receivers, considering he’s just a freshman. I think this is a guy with a lot of potential and the sky is the limit for Brandon Staley.

No. 4 Brenen Thompson: 533 YDS  4 TD  76.1 YPG

We have not seen much this season out of Brenen Thompson until this past week where he had his best game so far, totaling 155 receiving yards. Occupying a spot among the SEC’s leading receivers, if Thompson can keep this up, he can end up having a really good senior season and could possibly be a good draft prospect. I expect Miss St. to start targeting him more often after what he has shown.

No. 3 O’Mega Blake: 582 YDS  4 TD  83.1 YPG

Wide receiver O’Mega Blake has been super consistent this year for the Razorbacks, week in and week out. His place among the SEC’s leading receivers highlights his crucial role in the team’s success. It’s clear that he is now Taylen Green’s favorite target in the passing game and a huge reason for Arkansas’s success on offense this year. This is another guy in his senior year, looking to improve his draft stock and so far he is doing that, especially among those leading in the SEC.

No. 2 Chris Brazzell II: 602 YDS  7 TD  86.0 YPG

So far this year, Chris Brazzell II has been a dominant force in the passing game for Tennessee, especially in the red zone. Among SEC’s leading receivers, Brazzell’s partnership with Aguilar stands out, demanding strategic defenses from opponents. If the Vols keep this up, then I think they have a real shot at competing in the playoffs.

No. 1 Mario Craver: 674 YDS  4 TD  96.3 YPG

As of right now, Mario Craver is looking like the best receiver in college football, clearly leading among SEC receivers. His speed, combined with Marcell Reed’s throwing ability, is a thing of beauty in Mike Elko’s offense. So far Auburn has been the only team to hold them to under 30 points. The Aggies offense is looking like the best in the SEC.
