The SEC’s Rushing Leaders Through Week 6

The SEC’s Rushing Leaders Through Week 6

No. 5 Jeremiah Cobb: 58 ATT, 403 YDS, 4 TD, 80.6 YPG

Auburn’s running back Jeremiah Cobb came into this season splitting reps with Demari Alston. Alston got injured in the first game and Cobb has since risen to the occasion and has not looked back. Cobb has recently overtaken the starting running back role for the Tigers. I think that with more touches under his belt that he can show even more of what he is capable of. As well as being a huge part in leading this Auburn team to victory.

No. 4 Seth McGowan: 79 ATT, 431 YDS, 7 TD, 86 YPG

Kentucky has a new found star on their team this year and it is none other than running back Seth McGowan. McGowan has been the heart and soul of this Kentucky Wildcats offense and is proving why he should be amongst the elite running backs in college football. I look forward to seeing how McGowan continues to improve throughout the rest of the season.

No. 3 Taylen Green: 54 ATT, 441 YDS, 2 TD, 88.2 YPG

Taylen Green is currently showing the college football world that he just might be the best dual threat quarterback in the country. I think Taylen is a great quarterback who would thrive with more help around him. As far as rushing goes he is, once again, among the top 5 rushers in the SEC, and is doing it on the least amount of attempts. Taylen Green is a dangerous weapon for the Arkansas Razorbacks and I expect to see more great things out of him.

No. 2 Kewan Lacy: 102 ATT, 445 YDS, 8 TD, 89 YPG

Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy has been a big reason for the Rebels success this season. Lacy is also only a sophomore and will likely stay at Ole Miss next year and have a lot of success under Lane Kiffin’s offense. Lacy is very fast and agile allowing him to thrive as good receiving back for the Rebels as well. I am excited to see what else Kewan Lacy has in store.

No. 1 Ahmad Hardy 103 ATT, 730 YDS, 9 TD, 146 YPG

Ahmad Hardy is currently destroying these SEC defenses right now, and he is only a sophomore, yet he is playing like a 5th year senior. Hardy is a massive, bruiser back that refuses to be taken down, and I think that he would be a lot more talked about if he wasn’t playing for Missouri. That being said, Hardy is making a name for himself by turning Mizzou into a real contender this year. When you are able to control the line of scrimmage with this type of running back, it then makes for a very good offense. I think if Ahmad continues to play like this, then he may be a Heisman candidate.
