Auburn’s Biggest Swing Games in 2026
Auburn football has been through plenty of ups and downs over the last few seasons.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, they haven’t been able to find sustained success. Now, with first-year head coach Alex Golesh leading the program, let’s take a look at some of the games that could define his debut season on The Plains.
Florida at Auburn
In Week 3, Auburn will host the Florida Gators for a night game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. It should be an electric atmosphere for what promises to be an exciting matchup.
Both teams could enter this game with 3-0 records, and both programs will be under new head coaches with high expectations. If the Tigers can walk away with a win in this matchup, it would provide a major spark for both the fan base and the team moving forward.
Auburn at Tennessee
Next up is Auburn’s very next game, a road trip to Knoxville for a night game at Neyland Stadium.
This will be the Tigers’ toughest test to this point in the season. If Auburn defeats Florida, both teams could enter this matchup at 4-0, making the stakes even higher. A loss here would not derail Auburn’s season, but a win would turn plenty of heads across the SEC and further energize the Auburn fan base.
Auburn at Alabama
The Iron Bowl will be played this year at Bryant-Denny Stadium in what is sure to be one of the biggest games on Auburn’s schedule.
It’s hard to think of a season when this rivalry didn’t matter. Auburn’s goal every year is to compete for a College Football Playoff berth and a national championship, but right behind that is beating Alabama.
A victory over the Crimson Tide means much more than bragging rights. It would send Auburn fans into the offseason on a high note and provide a major boost to the program’s momentum. For Alex Golesh, walking into Bryant-Denny Stadium and defeating Alabama in his first season would be a statement win and an incredible way to announce his arrival in the SEC.
