No. 5 Marcell Reed: 102/170 1,490 YDS 12TD 4INT 248.3 YPG
Aggies quarterback Marcell Reed, once again lead his team to a great win this time against Florida – and I think the Gators are currently on the rise. So far this season, Mike Elko’s offense has looked unstoppable, and that all starts with Marcell Reed at the helm. I expect Reed to continue to dominate teams and most likely make the playoffs.
No. 4 Taylen Green: 119/189 1,654 YDS 14TD 5INT 275.7 YPG
Sitting at number 4 on this list is Arkansas QB, Taylen Green. Green has been doing great things this year and has been super exciting to watch. Taylen brings a lethal dual threat aspect to his game that has overall been the biggest reason for the Razorbacks success thus far.
No. 3 Ty Simpson: 134/189 1,678 YDS 16TD 1INT 279.7 YPG
In terms of sheer arm talent, I think Ty Simpson is number one. Ty is currently running through SEC teams right now with three straight ranked wins beating Missouri, Vandy, and Georgia. And not only is Ty a great quarterback, but he has the best receiving corps in the SEC to throw to. I feel like a lot of people counted Alabama out after their first loss to FSU, but Ty Simpson is currently proving every hater wrong.
No. 2 Joey Aguilar: 118/182 1,680 YDS 14TD 5INT 280 YPG
Joey Aguilar is smooth sailing right now and is continuing to put up big wins for the Tennessee Volunteers. I think Joey is a very experienced and pro ready quarterback. He isn’t super flashy, but he gets the job done through the air. I think he will finish out a great season for the Volunteers and will hopefully get them into the playoffs.
No. 1 John Mateer: 115/179 1,417 YDS 6TD 6INT 283.4 YPG
Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer looked amazing throughout this season until his thumb injury. I think Mateer is really athletic and can put a beat down on some teams. That being said, after his first game back after his injury, he did not look great and got throttled by Texas’s defense. I think we may see Mateers’ game decline but hopefully not.
